Friuli Sauvignon from Eastern Italy
Colli Orientali del Friuli is one of Italy’s most prestigious regions for white wine, and its hilly terrain and proximity to the Alps give the local Sauvignon Blanc exceptional aromatic precision.
Tasting Notes
A fresh, pale straw-yellow with subtle green highlights.
A clean, well-defined bouquet. Delicate floral notes of lime blossom and acacia appear first, followed by fresh citrus aromas (grapefruit, lime), classic gooseberry, a light touch of boxwood, and the stony minerality typical of the terroir (flint/slate).
Remarkably dry, fresh and mineral on the palate. The wine stands out for its high, lively acidity, which gives it wonderful structure and energy. The flavour profile leans more towards finesse and stony, saline notes than heavy fruit, closing with a long, refreshing and slightly spicy finish. (Alcohol content: 13.5%).
Serve well chilled at 8–10°C. Thanks to its pronounced freshness and saline minerality, it’s a perfect match for fresh seafood and shellfish, light fish (grilled or steamed), starters with prosciutto and cured meats, pasta with vegetable sauces, or goat cheese.
This is a white wine with very good structure that can be enjoyed immediately, in its youth, for its explosive freshness, but also has the potential to age and develop complexity over 3 to 5 years. Store lying flat in a cool, dark, undisturbed spot at a constant temperature of around 10–12°C.

Terroir and Winemaking Philosophy
The Colli Orientali del Friuli region lies at the foot of the Alps, close to the Slovenian border — a location that creates significant day-night temperature swings, key to developing aromatic complexity in white varieties.
Torre Rosazza takes a precise approach to growing Sauvignon Blanc — strict yield control, hand-harvesting and rapid processing of the grapes to preserve the volatile aromatic compounds characteristic of the variety.
This combination of terroir and technique places Friulian white wines among Italy’s most prized, holding their own against better-known regions.
The Perfect Occasion
Store in a cool, dark place and enjoy within 2 years of bottling for the freshest expression of its aromas.
Friulian white wines remain relatively unfamiliar territory for many wine lovers, which makes this bottle an interesting gift for a curious connoisseur looking for something different from the usual regions.
